Software Field Technician

A company in the construction services industry is seeking a hands-on, adaptable Software Field Technician to support the deployment, maintenance, and operation of software systems across active project sites. This is a highly mobile, field-based opportunity for someone who enjoys technology, working directly with customers, troubleshooting in real time, and operating in a construction/project environment. The position will travel frequently between project sites to deploy and maintain onsite software systems, support customers, track equipment and supplies, and provide valuable field feedback to company's Software Systems Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to project sites to install, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain software systems.
• Provide onsite technical support and resolve software-related issues.
• Communicate with internal teams and customers regarding system functionality and technical needs.
• Monitor and track deployed equipment, software-related items, and supplies.
• Assist with integrating new hardware into existing software systems.
• Identify technical challenges and provide effective solutions in real time.
• Gather field feedback to improve software performance, processes, and standard operating procedures.
• Support technology operations across multiple active construction sites.

Qualifications

Required:

• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States.
• Experience working directly with customers or clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to adapt to changing field conditions and work effectively in construction-site environments.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with wireless systems and devices, including signal range and attenuation.
• Previous experience working in construction or project-site environments.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Experience troubleshooting software systems and integrating new hardware.
• Residence near eastern Wisconsin is a plus.
